A St. Patrick’s Day gluten-free menu:
Scrambled eggs colored with liquid chlorophyll, or a little kale or spinach pureed.
Green smoothies with sandwiches. Try kale + pineapple + avocado + lime + water.
Irish Beef Stew
1 3lb. chuck roast
2T. ghee or coconut oil
1 onion, diced
9 carrots, peeled
6 potatoes, halved
1 T. parsley, dried
2 t. sea salt
2 t. rosemary
12 oz. gluten-free beer (optional)
1. Sear thawed chuck roast in 2 T. of ghee on both sides, with 1 T. of arrowroot added to the pan.
2. Place roast with any juices in slow cooker.
3. Put the rest of the ingredients on top of the roast, set it on high for about 7 hours.

We went to Hill Country Science Mill in Johnson City today. They have a homeschool day every month, from September thru May, its the second Wednesday of the month. The tickets are discounted to $6 per student, and parents are free. Some of their favorite exhibits are the Fractalarium, Race Track, Create an Explosion, Wind Turbine Test Bed, and the Giant Lever. We enjoy going to the San Antonio Symphony Young Peoples Concerts. The music this time was from Haydn and Mozart. Evan and River painted some pictures for the Paint to Music contest. Here is one Mozart album that we enjoy: Mozart’s Magnificent Voyage
I read from a few books about Mary Cassatt. We did a painting project based on one of her techniques-the monoprint.

We went to the KMFA’s 50th anniversary event. It’s a classical station in Austin.
Elijah helped Evan make a periscope. This book is used in Sonlight’s 1st grade science curriculum. There is a link to the Sonlight site on the right side of the blog.
We went on a field trip to our local PBS affiliate, KLRN, with our homeschool group.
